 soontobeblocked – can’t disagree with much of what you said. Most of us are still at the point where we have too much to lose yet. Although you can look at the Bundy Ranch and see the extent to which some are ready to go.

A mini-test case perhaps?

Speaking of this:

I’ve had a gnawing feeling that some things are “test cases”. Testing the waters, so to speak. What better way to see how people will respond to your plans for them?

When did I begin to think some things were possibly “social experiments”?  When the Northeast Blackout happened in August of 2003.  In and of itself …it didn’t make me suspicious. But when Europe also had a blackout in September of 2003 in  I began to wonder… (And now, I will put my tinfoil hat back on the shelf for another day…  And another subject. Lol.)
