Information Collection Passed to the Phone Companies?
Senate Hopes to Pass Amended USA Freedom Act; House May Balk
From the article:
The Senate on Monday was inching toward final passage of a bill that would restore portions of the Patriot Act that expired at midnight Sunday while ensuring that the National Security Agency ends its bulk collection of the phone data of millions of Americans.
The Wind Down?:
Burr said the Senate will take up a handful of amendments before voting on final passage of the USA Freedom Act.
He said the amendments include extending the period for the bulk phone collection program to wind down from six months to 12 months to give the NSA and phone companies more time to switch over the data collection to the phone companies.
So, essentially the venue will change, where the data is…..and you will still be spied upon. Hmm… I would say unbelievable….but nothing should surprise me anymore, huh? Wow, huh?
