Virgin killer’s parents read his hate-filled manifesto then called the police and rushed to stop him when they heard of murder spree on their car radio

From the article:

After Mrs Rodger came across his YouTube videos in April, she called one of his therapists, who then called a Santa Barbara mental health hotline, Astaire said.

Though this is from the same source (Daily Mail in the UK.) this young man was seeing therapists. The parent’s and the therapist were aware of the disturbing videos early on. Weeks before the tragedy.

I thought that legally therapists have to report his problem to authorities so he couldn’t have purchased a gun? Though I suppose that not that even the lack of a gun wouldn’t have prevented this.

The parent’s should have persisted in getting him help.
