How Climate-Change Doubters Lost a Papal Fight
From the article:
Pope Francis was about to take a major step backing the science behind human-driven global warming, and Philippe de Larminat was determined to change his mind.
A French doubter who authored a book arguing that solar activity — not greenhouse gases — was driving global warming, de Larminat sought a spot at a climate summit in April sponsored by the Vatican’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences. Nobel laureates would be there. So would U.N. Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, U.S. economist Jeffrey Sachs and others calling for dramatic steps to curb carbon emissions.
Notice how the climate hysterics like to use unquantifiable terms like “climate change” to scare people. They can’t even define it. There’s been no measurable global warming for 18 years now and counting. That’s why they stopped using the term “global warming”. None of these people can even define “climate change”. And that’s the whole point.
You have to be really gullible to believe these con artists.

So what does then Pope want us to do about “imminent catastrophic AGW”, pray for a super volcano eruption or major asteroid /cometary collision? “We must help the poor” says the world’s wealthiest individual. “Who are we to judge others” says he, as if the Catholics didn’t hire him to do just that.’
When your mind is rigid and refuses to accept new information you get a Papal encyclical which takes all the bad science known to man and re-clothes it in religious certainty. Unfortunately, it has little to do with the Pontiff’s main job of providing spiritual guidance to One Billion Catholics.
And just when I was considering returning to the Church. First it was the 1990s and the call by the Church for the US to unilaterally disarm. Then it was the 1990s and the revelations about wanton pedophilia among priests, with the backing of bishops. Now this. I cannot stand the corrupt, irresponsible Catholic Church. I am done with it.
This is a sign that the catholic church no longer believes in God’s mastery of the natural universe.
