Leave Facebook If You Don’t Want to be Spied on, Warns EU

From the article:

European Commission admits Safe Harbour framework cannot ensure privacy of EU citizens’ data when sent to the US by American internet firms

The European Commission has warned EU citizens that they should close their Facebook accounts if they want to keep information private from US security services, finding that current Safe Harbour legislation does not protect citizen’s data.

There were so many interesting comments to this article. In fact, hundreds. No telling how many there will be by the time you read this.

Here’s a few…

If you visit Berlin you can go to the Stasi museum whose motto was ‘We need to know everything about everybody’. With millions of paper records. FB and the like would be a gift to them. It’s OK if you have nothing to hide. Until somebody comes to power who decides what you do now is no longer acceptable. Like the US Taliban senators who think gays should be executed. Or think atheists should not be considered citizens. Can’t happen in the EU? Well with the apathy of people to vote for the same old same old, or not vote at all. Orwell might have got the year wrong but not the idea.

Every breath you take, every move you make…including right here.

unfortunately, facebook only allows you to ‘deactivate’ your account—but not delete it. in other words, with farcebook, you may check-out anytime you like, but you can never leave.

i ‘deactivated’ my facebook account a few years ago, and asked to have my account permanently removed, but facebook won’t even respond to my repeated requests.

It is possible to delete…. you just have to find the right page, which is literally hidden somewhere on the site.

I deleted my account but it wasn’t an easy process as you would expect. FB is like the roach motel you check in but you don’t checkout.

Leave Facebook . . .

more like leave planet earth, right?

That “Collect it All”, “Process it All”, “Exploit it All”, “Partner it All”, “Sniff it All” ™ mindset, which by the way was started by U.S. IT companies, won’t ever be abandoned by “freedom-loving” politicians and police.

They say, however, a tool is as effective as its user and since tools have no agency whatsoever, therefore there are no idiotic tools, their ultimate purpose is to “Know it All” in order to be able to entertain “playing God” illusions …

I am a bit amazed at seeing f#ck the EU countries coming out of the closet as “freedom-loving” s#ck3rs of the USG. They meekly talk like teenagers who just found out their parents were reading their journals. They even bullied Germany (a country with more than two good reasons to say no to this) into becoming a police state for them

I am not on facebook, I don’t own or carry a cell phone, … heck! I don’t even watch TV! I have been also included in the FBI criminal index list. The USG told my telco (Verizon) and my ISP (ACE Innovative in NYC) to stop offering me services. When I brought them to court all they did was laugh me out and even boast about me no having a case because they actions were commanded by the USG …

They have such a control over all of us on an individual level, that they are able to turn to the voice of someone talking to you on the phone into fax tones real time, while the person on the other end hears you fine even if you are using a public pay phone and they know very well you are talking to your son.

The USG has been doing things to regular individuals which would qualify as torture under any standard, like creating high frequency EM lobes and noises using the heating and water pipes in your apartment in order to sleep deprive “their targets”.

… and, no, you will not be out of their radar screen if you don’t carry a cell phone (now they even came with the idea of giving people tracking devices as keys to your building branded as “never loose your keys again …” kinds of technologies (thetileapp.com)). The USG is using microscopic EM beacons spread over people to monitor their whereabouts and correlate it with all other people …
