Yeah, I Thought So…..
U.S. needs ‘to do right’ for immigrant children: Official
From the article:
A top U.S. official said on Sunday the U.S. border is not open to illegal entry into the country, but acknowledged the government does need to be sensitive to the tens of thousands of migrant children flowing into detention centers.
Sure, our border isn’t open. Does anyone care to prove that?
“We have to do right by the children, but at the end of the day, our border is not open to illegal migration and we will stem the tide,” Jeh Johnson, the U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security, said on NBC’s “Meet the Press” on Sunday.
First of all, what’s your “plan,” Mr. Johnson, for stemming the tide? Excuse me, if it seems a little late. I suppose that you’ve never heard an ounce of preventing is worth a pound of cure?
And this is the best that Homeland Security can do?
If I hired a security guard to protect my house and got up the next morning with stranger’s eating breakfast at the kitchen table….I’d think maybe my security guard didn’t know what was expected of him/her.
I have an idea…..let’s pack them a wholesome lunch (or, several) Michele Obama-style, give them an Obama phone, access to a shower, clean clothes including a t-shirt that says “I went to the U.S. illegally and I got more than this lousy t-shirt”, and a free ride back to their country of origin.
